Dysautonomia
Living with dysautonomia can feel unpredictable. Dizziness when you stand, a racing heart, fatigue, brain fog, or trouble regulating your temperature can make ordinary days feel hard, and it can take a long time just to get answers. At Serene Chiropractic in Worcester, MA, we offer gentle, supportive care that works alongside your medical team to help you feel more comfortable day to day.
What’s going on?
Dysautonomia is a term for conditions where the autonomic nervous system doesn’t work as it should. This is the part of your nervous system that controls things you don’t think about, like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and body temperature. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is one of the most common forms. Dysautonomia should be diagnosed and managed by a physician, often a cardiologist or neurologist.
What can add to symptoms
Neck & upper back tension
Many people with dysautonomia also deal with neck pain, headaches, and muscle tension, which can add to how they feel day to day.
Deconditioning
Symptoms can make it hard to stay active, and losing strength and stamina can make symptoms worse over time.
Stress & sleep
Stress and poor sleep can affect how well your nervous system regulates itself.
How can we help?
Chiropractic care doesn’t treat dysautonomia itself, and it isn’t a replacement for medical care. What we can do is help with the neck pain, tension, and headaches that often come along with it, using gentle, low-force techniques adapted to how you’re feeling that day. We also help with gentle movement and pacing strategies, and we’re happy to coordinate with your physician.
When to see a doctor first

If you haven’t been evaluated for your symptoms yet, start with your primary care doctor.
